21 October: New Zealand has agreements with 45 countries, including Vietnam, that provide young people aged between 18 and 30 (or up to 35 in some cases) the opportunity to travel and work temporarily while exploring New Zealand. The Vietnam Working Holiday Scheme will reopen in 2024 with an increased cap of 200 places, up from the previous 100.

Updates on the Vietnam Working Holiday Scheme

  • Reopening Date: The Vietnam Working Holiday Scheme will reopen on 24 October 2024.
  • Cap Increase: The number of available places will increase from 100 to 200.

Application Process and Quotas

  • Once the scheme opens, applications will remain open until the quota is filled.
  • If places remain from 2023, the scheme will stay open until the quota is reached, after which it will close until the next opening in 2025.
