Financial Requirements: To sponsor someone for a temporary visa, you need to show you have:

  • NZD 1,000 per person per month if the accommodation is not prepaid.
  • NZD 400 per person per month if the accommodation is prepaid.
  • NZD 1,250 per month for students in courses shorter than 36 weeks.
  • NZD 15,000 per year for students in courses longer than 36 weeks (minus any prepaid costs).
  • NZD 9,000 for someone giving birth in New Zealand who is not eligible for public healthcare.

  • Enough money for their return travel.

When to Use This Form: Use this form if you are applying for a visitor visa for:

  • Tourism or visiting family and friends.
  • Business visits.
  • A dependent child of a New Zealand citizen or resident.
  • A dependent child of a work or student visa holder.
  • A parent or grandparent of a New Zealand citizen or resident.

Family Applications: This form can be used for one person or a whole family, including the main applicant, their partner, and dependent children under 20.
